The basic routine is to have a spectator select a card from the deck and then shuffle it into the deck. The unknown top card of the shuffled deck is now removed and placed (still face down) into the reflex card case half way. The card case is then turned over to reveal the card and the spectator is asked if this is the chosen card. He will say no! Now the magician visibly slides the card all the way into the card case and it instantly changes into the selected card.
